Did you/Do you want a big family?

And does the prospect of it not being easy depress you or do you just learn to handle it one day at a time?

When I was younger, I could have easily seen myself with at least 5 kids. I have always wanted a very large family, lots of kids. While Im only 30 and technically young, the recent events scare me, and I feel kinda hopeless before I even STARTED...does that make sense?

I would still love to have at least 3 kids..but if its like this...I dont know how to deal with it?

SO..how many kids do you wish in a perfect workd you could have?

I always joked I wanted 6. DH said 1 per parent, so I could have more if I found more husbands.

But I always figured I would talk him into at least 3. The thought of not being able to do that scares me to death.

We always wanted 3. But now...as it gets harder and harder to even conceive our first, I just dont know. Some days I cant even breathe through how much it hurts and others I accept that in the end, it will be Gods choice.

If it was meant that we only have one for some reason, then after much questioning in my mind I am sure, I will accept it. If it comes to be that one is not even in our future for some reason, I will not be able to accept it as easily. For now..I am having high hopes and praying for three.

IN the perfect world I would have 3. Two girls and one boy.

In the real world...I'll take 1...2...3...all the same sex...I don't care

I used to always want between 2 and 4, but now I don't even think about it and am just hoping to be blessed with 1.

there is a debate in our household

boosh wants 3

i would be happy with 2

we compromised

if we are lucky enough to have 2 and they are 2 of the same sex, we'll go for #3

if we have one of each, we stop

exactly the same here..

And since I am already 35 and still not PG with #1, the idea of not having more than 1 (or not having 1 child at all) has become a lot more realistic to me... and all the more upsetting Chat Icon

I thought 3 - then I got divorced - so I figured I still had time for 2 - now if I have 1 I will be happy.

Twins - to me - would be the best!!! I got used to the idea after the Dr. told me I had twins, and when I lost the first I realized that it would have been such a wonderful blessing!!

I agree - I always wanted twins. But I think if I had twins first, I would still want another one.

I guess we'll see how the first pregnancy goes (trying to think POSITIVE!!)

I too would be happy with just one healthy child..in a heartbeat. I just am having a difficult time thinking that a "large" family might not be in the cards for us. Maybe it will, but I thought it best to allow myself to think it may not be. But who knows..

I used to want 4 or 5. As I grew older, I only wanted 2. Now I'll take a tribe, one, whatever.

I honestly never thought about how many children I wanted until I met DH. Then I just wanted to have a baby with him...so if I can manage that I will be thrilled!
