So my dad was supposed to go out last night

With his ex fiancee - from over 40 years ago!!!

He tells me last week that he got a call from an old friend of his who tells him that this woman, the woman he was engaged to before he met my mom (she apparently broke it off with him when we went off in the service - byotch!! ) well, her husband had passed away. The guy then goes on to tell my dad he asked her if it was alright if he gave my dad her number to call her. W T H?!! My dad said he was uncomfortable with that and really didn't want to call her - mostly because he was afraid she would feel like he was jumping all over the newly widowed woman. But, now he felt obligated to call her (and when he talked to another childhood friend, she told him he had to too).
So he did and as it turned out, she would be on LI for a service the husband's family was having for him here. So, they made plans to go out to dinner last night.
It is just so weird to me!!!
Even though I know it's not a "date" - just to know
A) he was going out with a woman and
B) his EX FIANCEE!!!
So weird!!!!! I'm really not sure how comfortable I am with this.

I hope he had a nice time, but I just am having such a hard time wrapping my mind around this.

Anyway, no real reason I'm posting this other then to say - how weird - did I mention that?

Good for him! If nothing else, at least they can understand each others situation, u know?
