My first appointment with Dr. Saketos is August 9th and I am EXTREMELY nervous. What can I expect at our first appointment? Just a consultation? Blood work? A pelvic exam?? I am sure everyone is different but what did they do at your first appointment? TIA Posted 7/18/05 12:00 AM |

Well...Dr. Saketos, was the second RE, I had gone to. The first RE, I had a consultation with , was in Manhattan, and he spent the entire time, just taking down information. Dr. Saketos did the same, but she was 'different',...there is something very special about her...(IMO). I had mentioned my temperature that day...I was only cd9.....and I had a temperature spike,...to ease my concern, she said "come on let's check things out" and she went straight to u/s. She was so verbal during the entire thing.....stating, the size of the follicule she saw, how thick my lining was....etc...she predicted ovulation and was right on target. Everytime, she saw something, she started it with a positive comment....I left there that day with a new outlook on ttc. I feel she has a very warm presence....and makes you feel at ease,....even when, she delivers bad news. She is very confident, and secure in what she says.....She will work with you, so I would definitely ask for a u/s, no matter where you are in your cycle.....it's best for you, to get you immediate feedback...asap. Then, she will,...give you a sheet of paper with a list of things you need to do......(bloodwork, and hsg test if it hasn't been done yet) She will have you come back, with the next...step depending where you are in your cycle. So for me, the next step was progesterone testing at 7 dpo. For you it may be, day 3 fsh, estradoil, u/s cyst monitoring. Posted 7/18/05 1:04 AM |
