Hi Everyone! First, thank you for the good wishes and tons of baby dust! Second, on to the details...
DH and I got to the RE this morning at 8:30am and he made his 'drop off'. They told us to come back at 10am for the IUI. So, we went to the diner and had breakfast and came back to the RE at about 9:40am.
But...due to the bad rain, the parkway was flooded and closed and the doctor was reallllllly late getting in, she didn't get in til about 11:30am and when she did go in she had to go in to emergency surgery.
So..we sat and sat and I fell asleep, then woke up and read the paper, stared at the ceiling and counted how many lightbulbs were lit (5) and how many were out (6) and decided they needed to go to Home Depot and buy some bulbs! Then we sat some more...
At 12noon we were brought into the back and into a room, where we sat and sat and sat some more... The nurse came in and went over the SA with us (they did a mini SA this morning when DH dropped off his sample) and she said that normally they like to have at least 5 million sperm. DH and I BD's Friday night (I wasnt expecting to get a BFP on the OPK so early!!) so I had a bad feeling his sperm count was going to be low...and was hoping to have at least 5 million!
The nurse came in and told us he has very fast swimmers and they know just where to go AND that there are 59 MILLION of them in the sample DH gave this morning!!! OMG! Talk about relieved. DH had me pat him on the back, literally!
So Dr. S came in a little while later and did the IUI. Everything went exactly as it should. AFter she injected the sperm, she told me to lay down for 10 minutes and moved the table to angle my hips up.
I waited 10 mins and then got dressed and went home. I had a little bit of spotting, I'm not sure what it was from but it stopped pretty much right away.
So...I have to go back in 2 wks if I dont get AF and they will do a blood test. If I DO get AF, then I have to go back on cd3 for blood work and we will do another cycle of IUI only this time I will be on clomid.
That's about it! I'm so excited and hope it sticks! We shall see!!
Do you think it's too early to test?
Kathy

Thanks everyone!! I hope it was successful! I wish I knew now what the outcome was!!
As for the procedure, DH made his drop off at 830am, then they clean/wash the sample (remove the seminal fluid and you just have concentrated sperm). They bring it into the room in a vial and put it in a 'warmer' LOL guess the little guys get cold easy. To do the IUI itself then use a siringe and a catheter is attached to the end of it. The use a speculm to open you up (like a pap smear) and they go up through your cervix and into your uterus and inject the sperm, and that's it, done!
I had to pee so bad I thought I might pee on her - I was praying I wouldn't...she said it worked out well that my bladder was full because apparently it straightened everything in there out and the sperm went right u pin there without any problems. Who knows! LOL
It wasnt painful at all, just the speculum was bad - I hate them. When she injected the sperm it felt kind of warm and like tingles, was weird. Hope they do their jobs!!
Is tomorrow too soon to POAS? PS DH is still bragging about his "59 million man march"

I'm so excited to hear that things went well. We are all going to be on pins and needles during this 2WW.
Much baby dust to you!!
Thanks for sharing the whole procedure, I wasn't really sure how they did it.

I'm pretty sure I O'd last night/today (I'll take an OPK later today to confirm - pretty sure it will be a BFN) so I'm in the 2ww now! Temps habent gone up yet but I'm sure they will tomorrow. Here is my chart, although its not all that interesting - you can see I had pretty long cycle so far, assuming I O'd yesterday, that was cd18 and if it was lat night/this morning that I O'd that would be cd19.
I think my O date would be today, what do you girls think?

Well, it sounds like your experience wasn't all bad. I am glad to hear someone else finds bizarro things to count while waiting! I really hope that all your turtles pull together and you get your BFP this month!!!! BTW, did you test yet?

LOL NO I didnt test yet!! I have zero willpower though. I decided to try to resist the urge to test until I at least got a rise in my BBT! LOL
