Help with a Fundraiser

We are trying to organize a fundraiser for my brother - to raise funds for his bills and living expenses while he can't work.
Any ideas and/or thing to know - especially regarding taxes and legalities, etc.

i can't help you on that part, but maybe ask ron how to go about it. as to when , where you have it let meknow, i will be there. i might be able to get something for you too!!!

I don't know if his situation is related to an illness - if so, maybe check some of the orgs. that are associated with it.

You might want to ask at local bars or restaurants if they would sponsor a night for your brother - we recently went to a bar on a night where 10% of the cover charges went to pay for an employees medical bills and they held a raffle. Maybe a bar or rest. can do that sort of thing for you and avoid legalities b/c they'll just get to count it as a donation themselves. Good luck!
