COWBOY CASSEROLE

1 lb. ground beef
1-2 large onions, chopped into big chunks
1 large green onion, chopped
1 lb. can diced tomatoes (don’t drain)
1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
1 cup uncooked regular rice (not instant)
2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
¼ tsp. pepper
½ c. water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a large skillet or Dutch oven, fry ground beef until cooked through, and drain off the fat. Add tomatoes, tomato sauce, rice, water, and spices. Mix thoroughly. Pour into an ungreased casserole dish (if using Dutch oven, just leave in pot). Cover, and bake for 45 minutes. Remove from oven. Stir in onions and green peppers. Cover, and bake an additional 30 minutes. Check the rice to make sure it is cooked thoroughly. If not, put back in oven for an additional 15 minutes, or until cooked.

That sounds really good.

Wonder if you could use chopped turkey meat instead.

Most ground beef recipes can use ground turkey, or...I mix them together and use both.

we do a sloppy joe/manwich pie

take a can of crescent rolls (i use the jumbo size) line the bottom of a baking pan and lightly brown them in the oven

prepare manwich like normal when it is done spoon over the baked crescent rolls top with left over rolls and bake until rolls ontop are browned, mmmm so good!

I haven't liked meatloaf since my childhood, but my friend had us ovre for dinner the other night and made meatloaf, and it was SO good. It was the recipe from the back of the beefy onion lipton soup mix. pretty simple. I'm actually making it tomorrow.

Homemade tacos are always fun.

I like to use my tupperware hamburger press to try different types of burger combos, like my basic worsteshire/garlic burgers, cajun burgers, etc.
