On a happy note

Sassy2611	My mother recieved a note today from the organ donation group stating that my father's eyes have been used and have given two people the gift of sight. Even though my father is no longer here it is so nice to know that a piece of him is still alive. As bitter sweet as it is i know my father is smiling down from heaven knowing he is continuing to help others. That was always how he was, giving and helping everyone he could. Posted 6/26/06 9:54 PM

I remember when my mom was sick she asked her doctor if her organs could be donated...and she was devastated when he told her that she could not be a candidate for organ donation due to the chemo and radiation treatments she had. When we received the same letter it brought such a great feeling. Are you going to contact the recipients? It's been 5 years and they haven't contacted us...I'm wondering if I should try. Sassy2611	We are setting up a meeting with them and those who have recieved some of his bones and tissue. We just recieved another letter from them stating that he has helped more people that have suffered burns and so on. I was glad to hear that we can contact these people or the hospital that they used will help in connecting us with them so we can meet face to face. THis has helped so much. We feel like he is still here and will live on throught others, there is a great peace in knowing that. Posted 6/28/06 12:05 AM
