For my shower, someone bought us one of those Food Saver machine things. It basically vacuum seals everything. It works great and everything stays for a long time. No freezer burn!

glad you asked this because I have the same problem

i was thinking of getting a vacuum sealer- we buy steaks from omaha steaks and they come sealed and are always amazing no matter how long they stay in the freezer

I use the ziplock freezer bags that seem to work good. I always wanted one of those machines though.

I freeze a lot of my meat. We have 2 fridges and the freezers are packed! When stuff is on sale, I stock up. I haven't had to buy chicken, meat or pork in so long!

I wrap the meat in freezer paper and then put it in a freezer zip lock. It works very well IMO.

I havn't taken my food saver out of the box yet.
I usually pat dry the meat with paper towels, wrap it tightly in foil so that no air touches the meat, and then place it in a ziploc freezer bag.
Cutlets are packed four to a package, so I have one serving.
Meat that I leave in the store package gets an extra layer of saran wrap.

I saw on the food network to wrap meat in foil, then in a ziploc to prevent freezer burn. I only started doing this recently so I don't know how it will work yet!

double zip lock and squeeze all the air out. We will invest in a vaccum sealing machine at the end of the year. We just don't want to spend the money now and I know you should really get a good one since my parents purchased a cheapie and it stinks.

I love the food saver..

I usually buy the big packages of chicken when they are on sale> I fillet them and put them in the food saver bags..
They are also much easier to defrost with the bags
