Do you rent, own, or live with parents or ILs?

Just wondering. I know this has been posted before, but I wonder how the economy has affected the answers from the newer NWs...

Currently living upstairs from my parents, hoping to start looking for houses again next winter.

We were totally ready to buy this winter but got spooked by the economy ( DH owns his own business ).

We live in an apartment at my parents house.

we currently live in FIL's house bc he lives with his girlfriend....

DH has lived there is whole life, so we pay the mortgage and bills like renting bc we dont put our money into fixing things as they break, that is FIL responsiblity

Rent trying to buy! I mean we pay about 1,500 per month for our apartment two bedrooms and its sickening to pay that knowing what our mortgage could be even with our utility bills.

After 6 months of marriage, we finally bought our first home

We own a 2 bdroom coop in Queens

We rent a house in Long Beach

We rent a 2-bedroom apartment in East Islip.

we rent an apartment from DH's parents - they have a 2 family home and we live in the basement apartment and pay them rent....

for 2 years we rented a similair apartment but from a stranger - we much rather pay the rent to DH's family than to a real landlord - its a win-win situation for all of us this way....

i am dying to get a house though - i am sick of living in what i like to call "the dungeon" although, its really not that bad and its a pretty sweet apartment for a 1 bedroom....

We closed on our house a few weeks ago.
