Just to get some more posts on our new board!

Did you live with your DH before you were married? and for comments- if you had it to do over, would you have done it the same way?

Yes we actually owned our home before we even got engaged. If I had to do it all over again I would do it the exact same way

We did. At first I was very against it, but it made the married life transition a piece of cake. Once we were married I knew how good it could be and how bad it could be (living together). If I had to do it over again, I would do it the same way.

Yes......and I still married him even though he's a freaking slob!

Nope. We actually found an apt. 2 days before our wedding. We didnt move anything in until after the wedding.

Talk about cutting it close and almost living with the 'rents

we didnt live together but spent every weekend together- it was NOT the same thing.

we didnt have a choice really, because I was caring for my grandmother up until we got married (now she has a live-in nurse)- but I wish we could have lived together first- I think it would have avoided a lot of stress that we have been going through

We did not. I'm glad we didn't bc now everything is so exciting and so new, I am loving being a newlywed.

A lot of people tried ti scare me saying "oh wow I would never not live with someone before I married them" but DH and I dated for a long time and spent a lot of time together. We knew that we knew eachother well enough that living together wouldnt be like this big crazy hard change, and it wasn't we love it!

Nope and Im happy to say we've adjusted pretty well!

Nope...and we didn't even go on vacation with eachother either (strict family!!) and i have to say it was and still is the best experience!

Yes, we lived together for one year before being married.

I would NOT change it, and I would never have married him before living together. The transition was hard and we were at eachother's throats for the first 4-5 months or so. Getting married was easy-peasy because nothing changed!

Yes, but only for 2.5 months before our wedding. I was unemployed for 2 of those months so I was able to lay down the law a lot easier since I was home

We lived together for over 3 years before we got married. I never wanted to live with someone before I got married to them, but because of financial reasons it just made sense. Plus in the years that we lived with each other we moved 4 times to three different states. And in those moves it is not as though it would make sense to keep finding new roommates and our own apartments.

I wish we could have moved in together after we were married, but we got a lot of the challenges out of the way first, so I guess that is good.

No I never lived with DH boy transitioning into living together is very rough we have many good days but some days his ways and my ways clash so much

We lived together before we got married except in separate rooms....haha My mom is old fashioned and we were living at her house.

Yes we lived together for 2 years before we got married. I wouldn't have had it any other way.

Yes, we lived together 4 years before we married. I personally could not go into a commitment that huge unless I knew 100% what I was getting myself into

We lived together for about 4 years before getting married. It worked out well for us but I can see how living together for the first time after being married would be so exciting!
