I had tears in my eyes as I posted that from laughing so hard.

Warning: response from a mom (but one who got that remark for MANY years).

I used to say, and I still feel, "no one looks good with baby vomit on them." If anyone says you do, it's a lie. And they all vomit, even my precious!

I've also said things like, "Since when is a baby an accessory," and "if looks are my top priority, I'll just have some plastic surgery."

See, that's why I want to come to this board sometimes. I have a son now and there is nothing I would not do for him. However, I was both single and childless for a very good part of my adult life. In addition to that, I am one of those people who tries so hard to see all sides of an issue. Also, I still hear my share of rude remarks. The one I hate right now is when people tell me that they are glad that I am finally happy. I WAS NOT UNHAPPY BEFORE AND I NEVER SAID I WAS!!!!! I moved in a new direction when it was right for me. There is no more to it than that. I might not have more children, and I have to brace myself for a whole new round of comments about "only having one." Chat Icon

Of course you are always welcome here-it's great to hear other's points of view and besides- everyone was childless at one point or another... the more the merrier I say! Chat Icon
