Don't they raise the prices for tickets every year anyways? Every year I go to a game it's always more expensive to me...

Well that one is different. It's also an historical site too so it can't really be rebuilt...
Bottom line I wouldn't mind a new shea as long as the organization pays to build it...

We don't know how big they are making the stadiums....
well it would have to be in regulations! Which isn't all that big imo definitely not enough for the Olympics
The plan would be after the 2011 season to expand the Stadium from 45,000 to 80,000. After the games, the stadium would be reduced in size again.

I'd rather have a new stadium than a network...what do we need our own network for...our games are already on espn or msg???
How many winning championship games do the mets have that can be replayed over and over and over and over again. We only won 2 world series...
We don't know how big they are making the stadiums....
i think if i was a MET fan i would want the network. Shea isn't terrible..in fact it is far from it imo. Or should i say my DH's opinion. I really do not think it is necessary at all
I agree with bedda26, I would much have a new stadium. Sure there are plenty of memories at Shea, but the place is SO outdated. I was there a couple of weekends ago. I felt like I was caged into my seat.

DH and I are both torn about the prospect of a new stadium. We love Shea for sentimental reasons, but at the same time, a new, modern stadium would be wonderful. My concern is that the new stadium is going to hold less people than Shea does currently, only 45,000. There will inevitably be an increase in ticket sales yet again, and ticket prices have gone high enough.
Does anyone know what they will do with Shea? If they build the stadium in the current parking lot, where will people park? It would make me very sad to see Shea torn down, even though I think it would be inevitable. Parking there is going to be a mess during the time the new stadium is being built. I'm so glad I either walk or take the train from my apartment!
I agree with those who say that they would rather have the stadium than the new Mets channel, but hopefully the new channel won't get temporarily pulled from the airwaves like msg and fox sports did for time warner customers this year.

Yeah but who is paying for the two stadiums? the city? or the mets and yankee organizations?
I would be a little to see shea go but we do need a modern looking stadium in our city....

the way i understand it, the 2 organizations will be paying for the stadiums, but that will ultimately fall on the fans as well, cuz the ticket prices will be through the roof
shea is getting torn down yankee stadium will be made into a museum

in the mets case, there will probably be some outside funding

well if it is from the state that they are looking for this funding...then you can bet taxes will be raised because of it. Along with the extras they have to possibly do for the Olympics
