What do you all think?
I'm VERY excited about it. They can't get out Shea quick enough. You see all of these other nice stadiums in the league.

We do need a nice stadium in New York I agree. However there are more important things that has to come first before any stadium. The underpaid workers need to get the raises they deserve and we need more schools since the schools are currently overcrowded.
After that I wouldn't mind a new stadium. Shea does need to be re-done...

i heard that if NY gets the olympics and they are using the new shea during that time, the mets will be moved for a few weeks to...

I agree, but the Mets would be financing the stadium themselves

Yeah how can they possibly make that work???
I read in the paper that it would only be during the summer olympics that the mets would have to play their home games at yankee stadium...i don't think that it would be for the whole season...I am not going to yankee stadium....

Same here...It just wouldn't feel like a Met's home game to me at someone else's stadium....

DO we really think the mets CAN finance this? that they should be spending their money on a stadium???? I certainly do not think so...nor do i think they plan to.

I don't know if the Mets can finance this. Noone really knows how much money the organization has to spend. We may not be as rich as the other organizations but who really knows. If they have the money to do it then more power to them...

plus, next year we get our own network so they are also figuring that in too

I'd rather have a new stadium than a network...what do we need our own network for...our games are already on espn or msg???
How many winning championship games do the mets have that can be replayed over and over and over and over again. We only won 2 world series...
We don't know how big they are making the stadiums....

i think if i was a MET fan i would want the network. Shea isn't terrible..in fact it is far from it imo. Or should i say my DH's opinion. I really do not think it is necessary at all

well it would have to be in regulations! Which isn't all that big imo definitely not enough for the Olympics

and not for nothing...they are going to RAISE the prices of the tickets and such dramatically to pay and keep it up and running... now although it appears that the Mets may be due for a comeback hence more fans will come out to watch..that is risky imo.
