is this true???? ei to cpse transition question

is it true that if your child doesnt qualify for cpse services then ei services end immediately?

don't hold me to this, but i think you get until the child is 3... if you don't qualify for CPSE, since EI goes until age 3. although if your EI period is due for the next progress report and meeting (and CPSE doesn't think you need services) you're probably going to be hard pressed to convice EI you still need them.

When Nicholas transitioned, he was older than 3 because he's a January birthday. He received EI until he started services through CPSE which was in the fall. He was 3 years 9 months old by then. Had he not qualified for CPSE services, he still would have received EI services through the Summer. At least that's how it worked back then. Things could have changed now since this was a long time ago.

It basically goes by the school year. So this is true.

In another scenario if a child has an October birthday, this

child could start CPSE services as early as two since he/she

would be starting pre school at that point.
