Are any of you having a baby shower?

I am helping in the planning for my Best friend.

What are you guys doing?

Are you having one before or after the baby comes?

I planned a shower for my close friend who was adopting a baby girl from China. It was so much fun. I held it after her dossier was submitted and she had INS approval..then I waited maybe another 3 months to hold the shower.
The theme of the shower was "Think Pink". I had custom invites done and made sure my house was pretty much pink :D
I did a clothing line over a door way full of girls clothing, had flowers in various shades of pink and used a Little Tykes pink toybox as the wishing well. I also did a pink punch, the baby food tasting game and a big scrapbook where people wrote her advise and nice notes.

Since I had Molly only 2 years ago I do not expect that I will have another shower. I am sure close family and friends will purchase items for the baby when he comes home.

I'm sure I'm going to be having a shower but I told my mother (if she is having one) to wait until after I get my referral. I will be traveling about 8 weeks after the referral letter and that that time I will definately know the weight and exact age of my child which will help when purchasing things.

You are too sweet. Like others have mentioned, I'd wait until after she gets her referral, but not too long if she's going through SWS. Have fun!

I had two wonderful showers, both after we received and accepted our referral. I was very touched by the welcome my family and friends gave our Son.l
