That is wonderful...I am happy that your DH and DS were able to chat with her. You are definately making progress. And the more frequently DH talks to her she will want to come for a visit at some point. Posted 11/22/08 6:15 PM |

Thanks  Thats what I was hoping- I always try to remember what it was like to be that age and when I started to really think independently, but I can't remember ....(welcome back by the way  )

) had a purpose ....My DH spoke to SD twice this week and she was really happy to speak to him each time, and today when she spoke to him, her mother, although home, was pre-occupied apparently on her cell phone ( DH heard her arguing with somone or another in the background, what else is new 
) and my SD was totally relaxed, chatting up a storm, not giving the regualr yes/no answers like when BM is hovering over her and , DS even got to talk to her on the phone 
....She again said on her own free will, tell everyone I love them and miss you guys...Dh told her he would call her again during the week and he now has her cell phone # ( she inherited her BM old one ),,,This is a major step ...On their last conversation my DH said to my SD, I'm going to call you on Saturday, to see how your doing and just to say hello, I don't want you to be worried about me asking you if you want to visit ok ?? And she said "I know" - Maybe, him saying that put her at ease that she wouldn't have to be put in a position again by BM- who knows, whatever it was this is a good thing...Phone, mail its a step and then if in the future she decides to come around, whether it be for lunch or for a few hours that that will be great, we aren't going to start pushing visitation- ...Baby steps, and hopefully BM doesnt sabotage it again , I;m hoping now that she is almost 11. she is starting to think on her own a little more and will start to tell right from wrong
