What exactly do social work services entail? It's for his social/emotional issues. I have to admit that the term scares me.

For our evaluation, she went over some questions in terms of social history. For example, was the pregnancy full term, what was his weight, etc at birth. Are there any speech delays or other issues that may run in the family....she also observed during one of the evaluations and made notes. In the end she went over everything that was found and told me what they were going to recommend for services.

Hi! Thanks for responding.

We already had the eval. He got approved for the services, but do you know what they do? What do they go over? What is their method? I guess I could just ask at our meeting next week, but want to be prepared with additional questions, because I know I'll have them as soon as I walk out of there Chat Icon

I just asked Lance's teacher... she was not really sure. Is she doing parent training with you?

Well we get parent training also. It is not bad at all, don't worry! It is a really good thing. I was a little depressed about it at first too, but it is no big deal.

The funny thing is that it didn't even come up at the eval. After a few weeks of treating, the teacher asked if she could do parent training with me. :)

All they do is ask what your issues are... going to the store, eating, sleeping, hitting, etc... Then they work on them with you.

Like Lance's teacher will go to the store with us... show me things to keep him from jumping out of the cart. Chat Icon Today she went to the doctor with us. She will help with potty training, when the time comes.

She answers any questions, or concerns that you have. She comes up with a behavior plan when you need one.

Hope that helps. If you have any more questions I would be happy to ask her for you. Chat Icon
