The Saga continues...Updated 10/23

short and sweet version: My dh talked to his ex and she said that Christmas would cost 450 for a flight and Thanksgiving would only cost 200.00 but she didn't have the money either way. So, I told my dh that I was buying the ticket for Thanksgiving yesterday afternoon and I did. I don't know exactly what happened after that but instead of her saying Thank You she told him that now that he is towing the line unless he starts paying for some extras she won't be on the plane.

Now, I just got the forms today and he is filing Fri am. Thank G-d he had the agreement written up and filed before she left keeping all of this in the NY jurisdiction.

I have to admit I hate all this, I just wish she would stop.

My dh finally spoke (after much yelling and arguing) to his ex and he agreed not to take her to court, but he did tell her that next time she can't afford a ticket or their daughter calls for $$ he will. She seems to feel her life would be better if we stopped shorting her her child support. So he asked how is he shorting it and her reply "I am supposed to get 17% of your wifes salary and I am not". He explained that's not the way it is, and her response was it must be nice not to have to worry about money.

Anyway, I agreed to disagree with his decision. So, the daughter is coming up for Thanksgiving and we will take one visit at a time.

But on a side note, she tried calling me, I don't know what for, and I refused to answer, because honestly I wouldn't have been nice. She didn't leave a message.

What a hassle! After reading your posts and some of the other ladies' posts on here, it's no wonder sometimes dads give up on trying to see their kid. The amount of hoops to jump through is overwhelming and exhausting in every manner. I can't believe that BM is essentially forcing court intervention just before the holidays. What a vindictive witch. Why would she do that to her kid? You know what I don't get either? It would cost way less money to buy the plane ticket than to pay attorney's fees for all this court drama. Good luck with everything!

I am so sorry you are going through this ...I really wish these people would take a step back and see who ends up suffering in the end...its a terrible thing and I hope you guys find a way to make it work fairly

I am sorry you are dealing with this...it is so frustrating that these women just don't stop! I agree, the children suffer the most and it is pathetic that we have these BMs that act this way - sometimes it feels like being back in High School.
