A classic BM story

BM called DH to tell him that her, her DH & their 2 year old are driving to Tennessee to visit BM's very ill FIL. Let me just start by saying what a major improvement this is that she even called my DH in advance to tell him her plansChat Icon
So SD14 is NOT going with them because
1) she has school
2) she doesn't want to
3) they are driving because BM's DH is afraid to fly & its like a 15 hour trip by car

So BMs new thing is to chat with my DH like he's one of her girlfriends. Telling him all sorts of details about her life. So she proceeds to tell him that her MIL & FIL have been divorced for many years but they are so friendly that her FIL (that lives in Florida) is living with MIL ( in TN) while he's so ill. My DH comments that its nice.
BM: "yeah, you know if we didn't marry other people we probably would have ended up together again"
DH: *silence, crickets chirping*
long pause
BM: "um, I guess not"

Chat Icon Chat Icon What's that about? Wishful thinking? Please. It's great that they are civil, but there is definitely a difference b/w civil and buddy buddy. No need for the latter, IMO.

the funny thing is they were SO far from civil for years, BM dragged DH through the mud, talked tons of trash about him (and me) to anyone that would listen. As time has gone by & she's too tired from having her own life to fight she must have remembered that my DH is great to talk to & gives great advice, so now she's all buddy-buddy.
whatever, we just laugh our arses off about it.

Wow! You're a better person than I am! At that point, I would have grabbed the phone from DH and told BM off! Good for you!

Yeah, DH gets the girlfriend talk, nothing that extreme. But he hears about her break ups and make ups and relationship issues. But since my DH is such a girl he is always listening to get the gossip. I find it interesting, her love life is like the titanicChat Icon Chat Icon
