You could get tested for MTHR..but honestly, my friend worked for an OB for years and the reality is that most women's bodies are not prepared for a baby, they miscarry the first time and go on to have a healthy pregnancy afterwards....It's almost like the body needs to figure out what it has to do. i've heard this as well. Is this your first miscarriage ? They usually don't test 1st miscarriages because they are so commom (unfortunately). I know you wanted a reason, but It doesn't mean you won't be able to have a successful pregnancy! and please don't blame yourself, it's nothing you did. I blamed myself for my first miscarriage because we didnt have a reason. I decided it was either the extra mile in the park that day or the tuna fish sandwich I had. Even though everyone from my doctor down told me it wasn't possible. Posted 10/1/08 12:43 PM |

Ugh. How awful to think you are going to get some answers and then to get a big fat nothing. I am so sorry. Posted 10/1/08 5:06 PM |

Have you spoken to your doctor since? I would make sure they do all the possible tests on you - for blood clotting, hormone levels etc. It's very bittersweet knowing there was nothing wrong with your baby - there's no way to predict chromosomal abnormalities, but you can sort of take comfort in the fact that there was no way it could've survived. On the other hand, if there is something 'wrong' with you - ie progesterone deficiency or MTHR, etc - you can be treated. I'm so sorry for your loss Posted 10/2/08 12:00 PM |
