but I do have a daughter that I don't have custody of and I read this and thought it was very good.

Even though it's Alec Baldwin, if you just take it for what it is, it's really very insightful.

Even though I'm divorced for 8 years and remarried for 2 years I think I might pick his book up.

wow, thanks for sharing. I thought it was really good! I know my husband has encountered similar situations & has been made to feel the same way.

I totally agree! My DH was fortunate, though - he fought for and obtained full custody of his children. He originally, upon divorcing had joint custody with unlimited visitation, but once she said
she wanted to move to PA with them, he knew he would never see them again, so he fought it and won. They were 17 & 12, but their mom was not the best parent for them & finally the lawyers (even her own lawyer) had to agree. It takes a lot of time and a lot of documentation (we wrote everything on a calendar, etc.) to document the relationship that he had with the girls, to show that he was just as equally entitled to raise his children as she was, and just because she was the mom, it didn't mean she was automatically going to raise them. It's worth the fight and the money it costs!
