TMI...another question about miscarraige and D&C

I feel like I am asking different versions of the same question a million times but I need help:

I had a D&C exactly 2 weeks ago. Since then, I hae been bleeding very lightly...and I mean very lightly. Some days not at all, but then some days lightly. Brown (sorry TMI)

I read that you need to stop bleeding 3 full weeks before you bleed again for it to be a real period.

When did the bleeding stop for YOU?

what you are experiencing sounds very normal.

After my first D&C it took 8 weeks to get my real period...and after the 2nd, it took about 11 weeks.

I bled for about a week after the D&C.

I believe I got my period 6 weeks from the date of the D&C.


your body needs to readjust itself.
ask as many questions as you want, it's a confusing time.

When it happened to me, my OB told me to picture it like this: Your body is a car & it's going uphill (meaning your hormones are increasing rapidly). Suddenly you throw your car into reverse (have a m/c) - the car comes to a screeching halt and then slowly starts to roll back downhill to the bottom(meaning that it takes quite a while for your hormones to get back to normal). I don't know that it translates so well now that I've typed it, but I hope that the general idea made it through. Your body was chugging along & it almost doesn't know what happened to it. Unfortunately the next few cycles may be a bit different than you're used to (longer or shorter, more or less pain/bleeding, etc) and there's no way to predict how your body is going to respond

As for your original question, I bled & had minor cramping for about a week afterwards and my first AF came back 35 days after my D&C. I hope that you feel better soon. Please FM me if you need to talk

I blead a little the first night of the d&c which was a thurs nothing on friday.. saturday i started to bleed in the afternoon and it was gone by sunday afternoon.. i got AF 5 weeks from the d&c

My D&C was 5 weeks ago tomorow. I still have not gotten AF. I bled on and off for almost 3 weeks after the procedure. As soon as I thought it was going to stop, it would start again full force. I wouldn't bleed at all for a whole day, then I'd bleed heavily overnight. It does eventually stop though, it just takes time.

i bled for a while after... then i finally got AF after 4 weeks.

the doctor told me to expect it

When I had the D&C, i actually didn't bleed much at all for the first week. about 6 days after, i started bleeding like a full AF. The bleeding lasted about 7 days, and I got AF 2 weeks later.

after dnc- it lasted up to a week- and 4 weeks later my next cycle started- but i remember reading alot of girls having to wait longer....
