I did the Avon 3-day one year. But, we only ended up walking 1 day because of terrible weather - 1 day for about 17 miles. We were supposed to do 60 miles over 3 days, but I raised about $3700, which I was very proud of. Message edited 3/12/2006 10:47:52 AM. Posted 3/12/06 10:47 AM |

Gerty, I walked in a 3day a few years ago and was also worried about raising the $, but ended up raising almost double the required amount. They had message boards on the sites that I found helpful, but I sent a letter to almost everyone I knew, and was really surprised at how generous people were. FM if you want a copy of my letter or other ideas The training actually ended up being tougher for me

Every year, DH and I do the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. It has even more meaning for us now that DH is a cancer survivor. Posted 3/23/06 1:29 PM |

I did the same one. I was so upset when it was cancelled. I think this is the only walk I did, but I have done the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure (bike ride) 2x and in college we had a 48hour dance marathon (not necessarily dancing for 48 hrs, but no sitting, no sleeping!) raising money for kids with cancer at Hershey Medical Center and I "danced" senior year. It is a real honor at my school and in my sorority so I was so proud!! Posted 3/26/06 8:08 PM |
