So went away with SD for a long weekend....

and it was really fun! She was my little buddy all weekend. We went for walks every morning, played tennis, went swimming, paddleboating, made smores and made fun of dad! That was the best part!

I really tried to find an avenue to try to bond with her. She's 9...so we talked about how cute the Jonas Bros. are, Miley Cyrus' Sweet 16, aniticipation for the upcoming school year, I was filled in on the 4th grade gossip and of course, the timeless topic of endless amusement..farts. LOL

It was also good because I was able to discuss with DH issues that I observed with his parenting skills (or lack thereof at times) and could point out specific examples of what I was referring to. He worked on it all weekend and I'm hoping the changes he made will be permanent. Overall, 2 thumbs up for the mini vacay.

That is really cool - isn't it great when the DH's start to listen up! I hope he continues to work on his parenting so that you can all enjoy eachother like this.
