My bosses daughter begged her parents to join it after she put on the "freshman 15" her 1st year of college. She wasn't heavy, just that she did gain weight during her first semester and it showed. She is 5'9" tall and should be 145 lbs according to doctors.

By the time June hit last year, she was down to 125 lbs and waaaaay underweight for her height. Her parents tried to reason with her, yet she kept going to LA Weight Loss and they kept encouraging her to "Lose More" ...

She struggled all last summer with outpatient care and her parents finally put her in an inpatient facility in Philadelphia last September weighing in at 115 lbs. She was released in December after gaining a little bit and continues out patient care.

As of right now she's struggling to even stay between 117 - 120 and not go any lower. She may be admitted into another program at the end of this semester.

I don't know if it was the particular person she dealt with or LA Weight losses policies but they encouraged someone who was underweight to lose even more ...

ETA: She understand on paper that she is underweight but she doesn;t see it in the mirror. She makes herself sick when she eats. It will take her almost 2 hours to eat a turkey sandwich. I feel awful for her and her family.

I tried it and it was horrible. I spent almost $500 for nothing. I realized that I'm not the the type of person that does well w/ small portions & counting grapes. The girs I had were so pushy, the little weight I did lose was never enough Chat Icon I didn't like itat all. I have the food counter if you want it. I'm not knocking it, it just did not work for me. I'm sure that you're not knocking it, I was just wondering who else has tried it. Yes, it's expensive (I'm realizing that now) but my doctor recommended that I go because he lost 30 lbs from it. Chat Icon

You have to be counseled 3 x a week with a one-on-one setting and work on eating in proportions (3 Proteins a day, 3 Vegs, 3 Fruits, 3 Starches... etc...) it's not a bad program, if my doctor didn't recommend it I don't think I would have done it.
