I just got off the phone with New Beginnings and they said we should have our picture (referral) 8-12 weeks after our fingerprints are taken. WOW!

I was just going to say that this happened to my BIL & SIL. They were told the whole process would be about 15 months. Then it was a mad dash at the end because they went about 3 months early...we thought our best man may have to make his speech from China!!! Posted 1/15/06 5:25 PM |

Very True -- NB was actually upfront to me about this. They said they always tack on extra months just incase something out of the ordinary happens. Now we are more concerned about being reading in time! Posted 1/15/06 5:54 PM |

My friends adopted from China during the SARS stuff...holy cow...gov't offices were shutting down, adoptions crawled..but it was still under 15 months so I am sure that it just the "worst case" scenerio that they give. Posted 1/15/06 6:26 PM |

I am actually pretty anal about tracking the referral dates and unfortunately it has slowly down almost 50%. They have a chinese adoption offical site and right now they are only looking at May submissions. We are October. The trend is that they do one month a month. This means that is the best scenario we'll be getting a referral in July/August. But we have decided that is fate since we can not get a baby younger than 6 months old and in reality our daughter would be born in December or January which every single member of my family and DH's family is born Posted 1/16/06 12:16 AM |
I was told SWS has been making referrals at lightning speed lately! Joe and I have to figure out how we're going to come up with the $$ so fast! 
Haven't gotten far in the paperwork process yet bc I'm still waiting for my packet to arrive. I did get new birth and marriage certificates though (I lost mine) so that's a start! Definitely keep us posted. I'm SO excited for you!
