I need help figuring out an exercise plan

Hello, my name is Jackie, and I'm an exercise-phobe.

I have gained about 15 lbs over the last year, and I'm really unhappy. I have never exercised, and things seem to have caught up to me. I don't actually have a scale, so I don't know exactly how much I've gained, but I know how I feel and what I look like.

I have no idea where to begin figuring out what will be helpful in terms of exercise. I really need to establish a routine, since I'm off for the summer and have plenty of time to do it. I'm mainly unhappy with my stomach and my thighs, which are very flabby. I refuse to spend the money to join a gym, so any suggestions for outdoor activities or workout videos would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

I have always enjoyed walking, mabye start off with that? I know how hard it is getting started, but I always find walking is a good way to begin.

How about jogging? Tae Bo? Pilates seems to be good for toning muscle. Good luck!

Well, you can't spot reduce, so your best bet is to do some combo of cardio & weight/core training....

do you have a treadmill or something that you could use?
