Sometimes Advil works. I have also taken Fioricet and Flexeril, but not at the same time. Flexeril is a mild muscle relaxant that I got for a neck problem, but I think that my headaches stem from the neck problem, so it helps.

I have migraines. Nothing works (except when I get desperate and take a migraine medicine).

Sleep is the only thing that really works without medicine. Even with the medicine, I have go to bed in a dark room.

For my really really bad headaches I start off with Tylenol followed by a cup of coffee and then Motrin or Advil about an hour or two later. If possible I try to squeeze in a nap too and when I wake up headache gone!

Alleve and a nap if I can.....it depends on why I have the headache. Sometimes I need food, or sleep or it's just to loud, but Alleve helps and so does wearing my glasses if I get a headache at work.

Motrin works the best for me since I only get the occasional headache. I do not get migranes though, I couldn't even imagine what that must be like Chat Icon

my doc said I can have 3-4 Aleve (equal to 1000 mg of motrin)

and I also have a can of coke, the caffeine helps.

but the only thing that fully helps is a nap in the dark...just had one on Saturday.

Depends on what the headache is from..For a migraine if I catch it early enough, excedrin migraine

if it's a tension headache from my neck I have fioricet or if it's a larger muscle tension problem, I may on rare occasion take a muscle relaxer.

For a regular headache that is severe and won't be helped by Advil or another NSAID, then I take Darvocet.
