Touched by cancer?

3 of my grandparents died from cancer before I was even born. My aunt was diagnosed with breast cancer a year or so ago. She's doing well, but she's not out of the woods. One of my very close friends had ovarian cancer at 17. She's doing very well & has been cancer-free for over 3 years now.

Dh's grandfather died of cancer last year. I think he may have lost another grandparent to cancer as well, but that was before I met him so I don't know the details.

3 of 4 grandparents have died of cancer so far - brain, uterine and lung. One was a breast cancer survivor. And a coworker of mine was just recently diagnosed with cancer of the kidney, and will be having one of them surgically removed.

I hate Cancer.

My side...

My mother is struggling with Stomach Cancer right now.
My Aunt died of Breast Cancer
I personally had surgery for cervical cancer.
My friend is a Breast Cancer Survivor.


DH's side seems to be cancer free

My grandmother (dads side) breast cancer.

My mother - 2 brain tumors and colon cancer - beat them all

my sister - breast cancer - found it at stage 4 when she was 36 - she passed away at 37 leaving behind 3 small children My life have forever changed becanuse of this.

My dad was diagnosed with esophageal/stomach cancer in lae 2006 and elected to have surgery to remove it all. happy to say he is cancer free and doing well at age 62.

My Aunt - diagnosed with liver cancer in January 2002 and died 4 months later.

Maternal Grandfather - Prostate Cancer died before I was born.

Ex Mother in Law - Breast Cancer, stage 2 she is currently undergoing chemo and had a total mastectomy on the right side.

My grandma had breast cancer. It wasn't discovered until her autopsy. She had had a mammogram 2 months before she died and by the time of her death, it had already spread.

My FIL died of lung cancer. He died within 1.5 years of his diagnosis. RIP Pop.

My friend was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. She died within 6 weeks of her diagnosis.

My SIL's grandfather passed away of lung cancer 6 weeks after he was diagnosed.

Cancer suck s. Lung cancer suck s BIG time.

My mom: Stage 4 breast--survivor
my uncle: stage 4 pancreatic- passed away
my grandfather: lung cancer - passed away

My Dad's side:
His Father, sister and uncle: passed from lung cancer

DH's mom: breast cancer, but when they finally caught it was in her brain -- passed away.

DH's first cousin: testicular cancer

My Mom - Colon Cancer
That's all I know from my Mom's side...she was adopted.

Dad's side...honestly, can't think of anything, but "they" have their own bunch of health issues.

Mom's side - grandmother died from lymphoma

Father's side - grandfather had cancer in the kidneys & eventually the brain.


Other close poeple:
Christine - Best friend - breast cancer survivor - radiation & surgery, no chemo necessary

Marty - Boss - tongue cancer - chemo, radiation - remission accomplished, going on 5 years.

Jordan - Nephew's best friend/my mom's neighbor - diagnosed in 2005, lost his battle to a rare form of lymphoma

Alec - Friend's son, 9 years old, osteosarcoma but in the brain, lost his right eye, still in treatment & still hopeful.

Mom's Side: Papa had colon cancer and lost his 7 year battle with it 2 months ago.

Dad's Side: Father and Grandfather - testicular cancer. Grandmother - Breast cancer and skin cancer.

Stepdad's Side: Grandfather passed away from lung cancer. Grandmother is in remission from Breast Cancer.

This is just my most immediate family.

and to all who have been affected by this horrific disease.

My Dad just died last week from AML (acute myeloid leukemia).

Cancer is so horrible. for everyone that is going through this.

My mom- Lung Cancer, passed away

Dad and Grandpa both died of Lung Cancer.

Grandma had breast cancer but is now cancer free - her mother died of ovarian cancer.

I had a bone tumor when I was 15 - thank goodness it was benign.
