My dad had a lung cancer scare last year, and my mom had a breast cancer scare last year. Thankfully it was different issues for both of them.

My dad has skin cancer. I think it's all been removed but he has to get body scans frequently now.

I lost both grandfathers to lung cancer.

I lost 2 cousins to breast cancer.

One cousin had several cancerous skin growths removed.

MIL had a portion of her lung removed that they thought was lung cancer. When it was biopsied it was indeterminate. They even sent it to the Mayo Clinic for further testing and they couldn't figure out what it was.

DH's grandfather has testicular cancer, but he's in his 90's so they aren't going to treat it.

My brother lost his FIL to cancer a little over a year ago. He'd beaten it twice before, but it was too much the 3rd time. Chat Icon

Cancer is prevalent in my family.

My paternal grandmother is a breast cancer survivor. My maternal grandfather had lung cancer. Some other family members also had cancer.

DH is a testicular cancer survivor and fought like hell to recover.

I hate cancer. It seems to be everywhere now.

My mother had bone cancer that was caught early (by error) and her bone was removed and replaced with rods.

My aunt passed away of esophogel cancer.

Also a close family friend passed away of lung cancer 2 months after he found out.

My brother. Chat Icon

He was diagnosed with Liposarcoma in April 2007.

Thankfully, with surgery, the tumor was removed and he's been in remission ever since.

Of course he's not completely out of the woods yet - the type of cancer he had has a history of recurring so he has a very good chance of it coming back. Because of this he now has to go for regular check ups. But first and foremost we feel blessed that for now, he's here and cancer free. Chat Icon

I lost my mom to breast cancer almost 6 years ago. She was first diagnosed at age 38 and survived 3 battles with it before it finally got her.

My maternal grandmother surived breastcancer.

We lost 2 of my mom's siblings to lung cancer.

My cousin was diagnosed with leukemia as a child and survived. She will be 35 this year.

Cancer is a terrible disease and I pray for all that have been affected by it.
