I realized, after I posted this, that I am not a medical professional and should not be advising anyone in regards to the treatment of any alignment. Sorry, my bad. Message edited 1/21/2008 10:13:43 PM. Posted 1/21/08 7:48 PM |

I have it too..usually dry and flaky skin. It flares up for me in the winter on my skin, scalp and ears. I have various prescriptions from the derm. to treat. For dry patches I use a lotion called Cutivate. I think it has a steroid in it. Works well for me. Otherwise I used cortizone. Posted 1/21/08 9:00 PM |

Ditto on all counts. Have you been tested for allergies? I have eczema all the time, but it is SOOOO much worse if I eat dairy or tomatos. Posted 1/21/08 11:13 PM |

Not officially, but I have a LOT of skin allergies. Fabric Softener, Cinnamon, Tartar Control toothpaste, certain brands of nail polish, all give me horrible skin reactions. I think I'll start paying attention to when it's worst to see if there's a link. Thanks. I wouldn't have thought of that! Posted 1/22/08 9:00 AM |

Eczema is very often caused by food allergies, specifically to milk, tomatos, nuts, soy, wheat, etc. Definitely try an elimination diet. I stopped drinking milk for a week and realized that was causing my rashes. Now I don't drink any milk, but if eat too much of other dairy products I will get a rash. it also sounds like contact dermatitis in your case, most of those things are irritants, ot allergens. If your skin is so sensitive, try changing your soap, shampoo and/or laundry detergent. Posted 1/22/08 11:37 AM |

DS gets patches of it on and off, the hydrocortizone cream works and within a few days everything is gone. Posted 1/22/08 12:54 PM |

Everything I use is frangrance free and dye free already. It never dawned on me that it could be food related. Posted 1/22/08 1:34 PM |
