Name the cruises you've been on, and if you would recommend them or not.
DH and I just got back from a 7 day Eastern Caribbean cruise on Princess. LOVED it! We went to St. Thomas, St. Maarten, and Princess Cays (a privately owned island). We would definitely recommend this cruise.

Cruised to Alaska on Royal Caribbien-Loved the ship, but Alaska is worth seeing on any ship!!!!! It was absolutely stunning. DH and I are planning to go in August.
Norwegian cruise to Cozomel,Grand Caymen and Ochos Rios. We had a great time.
Carnival cruise to Puerto Rico, St. Marteen and somewhere else(?) . This was several years ago. I enjoyed the cruise, but I remember a lot of drunk people being onboard.

I loved our honeymoon cruise
It was 10-days from NJ to the Caribbean on Royal Caribbean's "Voyager of the Seas" ..
The ONLY thing I wasn't crazy about was our ports of call - their private isaland in Labadee, Haiti, Jamaica, Grand Cayman and the Bahamas. The excursions we took were great (parasailing in Labadee, swimming with the dolpins in Jamaica, etc) but overall I wasn't impressed with ANY of the ports of call
But the ship itself was fantastic and we were treated like a king and a queen!

anne-what boat did you go on? DH is faithful to RCCL, but after your review I think I am ready for a change. The movies sound so cool on the boat.

1) NCL - cruise back in 1988 or 89 had a great time
2) Celebrity - have been on 10 cruises with them - I have been on these ships: Horizon Zenith Century Galaxy Constellation
Those were all to the caribbean
3) One cruise on now defunct Royal Olympic - Mediterrean cruise - to greece and turkey
4) In august I will be going on a princess cruise (caribbean princess)
So far celebrity is my favorite cruise line - but we had some issues with Customer service and then they cancelled our cruise (for this coming august) so that is how we ended up on princess - so we are ready to try some new cruise lines.

The ship was the Caribbean Princess. It's pretty new - built in 2004!

The only excursion we did was play golf at Mahogony Run on St. Thomas. In St. Maarten we just shopped (DH bought me jewelry for our 1 year anniversary ) and on Princess Cays (private island) there's no excursions - but you can rent those big floating tricycles to ride on the water, or snorkeling equipment...stuff like that.

Belize- we were scheduled to do water caves, it got cancelled due to fighting in the jungle. so we went on a city tour. Kind of dull until we saw the monkeys.
Costa Maya-went horseback riding. Since DH speaks spanish, we did not book through cruise, we wanted to negotiate. So we got it for half price. It was fun, you go through the village then on the beach. We also went to Tequilla beach. It was so nice, very friendly staff. DH climbed for coconuts, and they gave him a machede(sp) and will filled them with gin and got drunk together. We snorkled there as well and saw so many different fish.
Cozemel-we booked a beach package throught the ship. Everything included, chairs umbrellas sports, and DRINKS. We were trashed. The staff was friendly and understanding when we got to be obnoxious. It was definately worth the 30.00

We took a Carnival cruise in 2001 out of Miami to San Juan, St. Thomas, and St. John. We had a lot of fun.
For our 1st Anniversary in October we took a Celebrity Cruise to Bermuda. The ship was the Horizon and left out of NYC. It was incredible!

Carnival Holiday and Celebration - both were family vacations when I was under the age of 13.. so of course i had a great time.
Norwegian (can't remember the name of the ship) - hated it. bad service just overall not a fun trip at all.
Carnival Elation - 7 days.. DH's first cruise.. had a great time but got really sun burnt. Don't like how they charge you for tips at the beginning of the cruise now.
we're going on Celebrity (mediterranean cruise) in a few weeks so i can post back more then.
my sister went on Princess a few weeks ago and didn't enjoy it. Gorgeous trip except many things were additional $$ since she hadn't cruised with Princess before. She had to pay for sprinkles on her ice cream. I find that crazy.. especially on a cruise ship. There were other things - like the cruise forgetting to tell people that the islands close down on all holidays (it was around Easter so 3 ports were closed). Besides that though they really loved it. It wasn't the cruiselines fault, it was that particular ship and crew.
