I found that the best gift you can give a new mom is a home cooked meal. Once you get home with a new baby, the last thing you want to do is have to worry about having to cook is worth any gift you can buy Posted 5/11/05 9:58 AM |

I would give her a basket filled with diapers, wipes and ointment. I go through that stuff like water and stuff like that is always much appreciated. Posted 5/11/05 10:27 AM |

Since she isn't feeling all that great and didn't want to hold the baby, give her something for herself like a gc to massage or manicure. You can also bring a little something for the baby but don't give her a gift that is for the baby. Posted 5/11/05 10:34 AM |

I definately want something for her and her only but I sort of wanted to give her something that is immediate gratification...not like a gc that she can use later...I want something for her for NOW!!!! does that make sense? Message edited 5/11/2005 11:33:22 AM. Posted 5/11/05 11:32 AM |

Bring her some food. Maybe from her favorite deli or restaurant. My mom brought me a turkey sandwich and my dad brought cookies. At the time they brought them I did not feel like eating them.....but in the middle of the night after feeding my son.....they were great. Posted 5/11/05 12:09 PM |

Then when you go see her do a little makeover for her. Bring comb/brush, curling iron and some makeup for her, etc..... Buy her a comfy new pjs or something to wear home. Maybe bring her takeout from her favorite restaurant. Posted 5/11/05 12:29 PM |

[ That sounds like a really great idea! Maybe even pay for a makeup or hair person to come in and do her makeup or nails while she is still in the hospital? Posted 5/11/05 12:42 PM |

what about when shes home to cook a meal and take care of the baby if she lets you. Give her an hour or more if necessary to just relax. Shes gonna need it. Posted 5/11/05 1:29 PM |
