Mines not special, but it's good! I just follow the recipe on the envelope of Lipton Onion Soup mix. I add in chunks of Cheddar cheese.

I usually use bag and Season but we are getting sick of it, so I am going to try ground beef, onions, tomatoe sauce, eggs, bread crumbs, garlic. I am trying this out this week. Chat Icon

I used this recipe and posted it on LIW and boosh/Don and Palebride used it and LOVED it. You could also put cheese in the middle.

Prep Time: approx. 15 Minutes. Cook Time:
approx. 1 Hour . Ready in: approx. 1 Hour 15 Minutes. Makes 6
servings.

1 1/2 pounds ground beef
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1 egg
1 dash ground black pepper (I used more than a dash...DH likes "kick")
1 cup bread crumbs
1/2 cup milk
1/3 cup steak sauce, (e.g.
Heinz 57)...I used A1 Steak Sauce
1 onion, chopped
1/2 cup diced green bell pepper

***I also threw in some fresh minced garlic (from the jar) and Italian seasoning

Directions
1 Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
Lightlygrease (or use a non-stick) loaf pan.
2 In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, egg, black pepper and bread crumbs. Pour in the milk, 3 tablespoons of the steak sauce, onion and green bell pepper.
3 Place the mixture into the prepared loaf pan and shape
into a loaf. Brush the top with the remaining steak sauce.
4 Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour or until done.
Allow to stand 5 minutes before slicing

here is one.

1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
2 eggs, beaten
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
1 Tbsp. ketchup
1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
1 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. bottled Italian dressing
2 tsp. soy sauce
1/2 c. shredded carrots
1/2 c. finely chopped celery
2-3 slices of bread, crusts removed and cut into small pieces
milk
garlic powder to taste

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Place the bread pieces in a small bowl, and cover with just enough milk so all bread is covered and milk is fully absorbed. Let stand a few minutes. In a large bowl, combine all other ingredients, mixing thoroughly. Add the bread last, and mix carefully to distribute the bread evenly. Form into a loaf and place in the oven.* Bake for an hour to an hour and 15 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before cutting.

*Most people use a loaf pan to make a meatloaf. I like to use a small broiler pan, which I've sprayed lightly with cooking spray. This way, the meatloaf isn't sitting in the fat when it is done cooking.

Thanks ladies. Thise sound really good. I am curious to try them. I haven't made meatloaf yet and I am hesitant because I don't enjoy my mom's version and have pretty much successfully not eaten hers for the eight years that I moved out. (almost)Chat Icon Chat Icon
