My Birth Story...July, 2007

Well I have a little time to post my Birth Experience. It wont be so detailed but will give you an idea of my day.

Thursday Morning around 4 am, I felt a menstrual cramp, I felt another one later on in that hour and the next thing I know I look at the clock its 5:00 am almost exactly and my water broke... I quickly slid off the bed and ran to the bathroom.. I woke DH up with my surprised reaction noises..

We called the Dr's office. Dr didn't call me back, so I called again and he finally calls me about 40-50 minutes later.

So my water breaks at 5:00am and I had no contractions, I told the Dr this and he said if you don't have contractions by 9:00 to go to the Hospital. So that is what I did.

9:00 am we arrive at the Hospital, they put me in a room and I just wait for the Dr to come in, he came sometime after 11:00 and I still had no contractions.. They started me on Pitocin, my cervix was still just barely 1cm and really high up.

The contractions started coming, the pain for me wasn't that, that bad.. I totally forgot everything I learned at Lamaze.. I couldn't properly do the breathing techniques when a contraction came on. I think if they stayed at the longer duration of the minutes I could handle it, but I knew they would get closer and probably worse so I got the epi... Epi wasn't that bad either and I am terrified of needles.. I felt the pinching and my back even startled a little but so far I'm fine.

5:00 pm comes around and I only dialated to almost 3cm. Logan's heart rate dropped once and they were getting worried saying that he is getting tired. So my Dr said we should think about a C-section. Saying it will be better going in now for a C then to wait and possibly Logan's heart rate dropping again and doing an emergency C..

I started crying, terrified of having a C Section but knew my baby would come safely into the world.

So shortly after 6:00pm Logan was born..
When I heard him cry, my emotions started up. I was crying tears of joy/happiness. When they laid him on my chest and I got to hold him and kiss him, I melted... I couldn't believe my day had finally come. I had waited for my own family for sooo many years.

He weighed 8lbs 9 ozs and 23 inches tall

JOLA YEAH!!!!! Logan is SOOO adorable!! Congrats!! I hope you're recovering nicely. PLease, don't try to do anything!!! Just relax and take care of mommy and Logan!!!
