I'd like you all to meet my Benjamin...

Hi all!

First off, I want to thank everyone for their kind wishes, FM's, visits and calls. The outpouring of support I've found in you ladies has been invaluable to me and I thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My birth story is pretty straight forward. We had a scheduled c-section date of June 20th. We arrived at the hospital at 6AM and they began prepping me for the surgery. At about 7:30, DH suited up in his white overalls and mask and they walked me over to the O.R. where the anesthesiologist administered the spinal block. I'm not going to lie...it hurt! My nurse mid-wife is also a first assist to my doctor who performed the c-section so she held my hands while the anesthesia was administered. The whole O.R. staff was wonderful.

They began the surgery a short time later and at 7:56AM, our little miracle made his debut into the world weighing 6 lbs 8 oz and measuring 19 1/4 inches in length.

We ended up coming home on Friday afternoon because I was getting no sleep at all in the hospital and despite having a c-section, I felt pretty good so my doctor let me go home.

The first night a home was very scary because Benjamin was awake from 12AM until 5AM. We didn't know what to do, I was crying and DH and I were both exhausted so we ended up calling my MIL to come over to help us at 4AM in the morning. Thank God for Mom's! Benjamin ended up doing the same thing the second night and although I'm BFing, we supplemented with a bottle just to see if he would sleep. It worked and he's been slowly getting his days and nights adjusted.

All in all, the past week has been an emotional rollercoaster but our little man is sooooo worth it.

With that, I'd like you all to meet my little man, Benjamin Steven.
