You also can have apple/cheese (apple has the carbs in it) as a mini meal- i find the apples you buy in the bag are the correct size (not the gigantic ones).

I'm not sure I would eat cheese...Chat Icon The fat content is way too high...

It's on the website...
apple and string cheese as a snack.
(part skim- not regular string cheese)...

You're right, it is.

I always thought there seemed to be such a discrepancy between what's included on the approved foods list and the meal plans he lists--his meal plans work out to be too many calories, but I wonder if it's geared towards him, ie a man. A woman should eat around 500 calories less a day. I wouldn't eat the cheese because I don't think it has enough protein for the fat and calories...

I do the diet through eDiets...

It comes out to be 200-300 calories around 6 times a day- 1200 to 1400 calories a day- depending upon how much you eat.

I just read that the target calorie intake should be about 7700 per week or approx. 1100 per day. (actually more like 1300 since you get a day off)

1100 a day is VERY low..
i have been losing consistently with 1200-1300 and not feeling starving.

I have been trying to stick to 1300 per day as well.
I learned for my weight and height that if I wanted to maintain it I could take in 2315 calories. Then I read in the book that if you want to lose one pound a week you should drop it down 500 calories and if you want to lose 2 pounds a week you should drop it down 1000 calories.
Thats how I came up with my 1300 figure anyway.
I am so glad there is someone else here doing this plan!! Will be great for support, ideas and recipe sharing!

I love the BFL program. My first time on it I lost 25 pounds. I've been on and off it again now for a couple of months. But next week DH and I are going back on it. We're going to slowly break ourselves back into this week.

I'm glad there are people on this site that are doing it. We'll have to keep motivating each other. Chat Icon

My goal is to lose 20 pounds by the end of the summer.
