Thank you! I'm just so scared, excited, and overwhelmed all at once. DH & I are not going to stop TTC. We'll consider it double the blessing if we have two (or more) at once. We're sending our initial app in the mail tomorrow! For those of you that have adopted, how long from your initial app did it take to receive the rest of the paperwork (I know we have to complete a more in-depth application which includes a family bio and stuff...) Thanks!

I'm so excited for you!

We put our application in the end of March and we finished our paperwork in September. I think we took a little longer than normal but the average time is about 3 to 4 months to collect everything. The paperwork is not difficult it just takes time. We had to wait for the doctor, we had to wait for our fingerprints to clear, we had to wait for our INS approval. It's all a big waiting game but once you finish you get a huge rush!!!

Im so excited for your and DH! We signed with our agency in April and had our paperwork complete, authenticated and translated by early August. Our home study took a little time to schedule so you might want to ask about getting that started. The paperwork is just that - paperwork you have to take some time to complete it accurately and completely. Its not difficult just time consuming. There is a lot of waiting for this and that to arrive in the mail. I took one day off to run around to the different county offices and police dept to get various things. Best Wishes to you.

Congrats! I am right behind you, we signed the New Beginnings Application, and tonight we are filling in a section together, and then in the mail! China though....

Thank you all so much! Sandra, we are going to go through this at the same time! Joe and I were going to adopt from China too but changed our minds last minute. I'm so happy there's someone using the same agency and that's going to go through the process at the same time as me! Congrats to all of you and thank you so much for your well wishes!
