FInally---My birth story and introducing the new love of my life!!!

MsKitty1274	As Eireann posted, not too thrilling of a birth story, as I had a scheduled c-section. I was scheduled b/c one week before my due date; baby was estimated to be 8 lbs 11 ozs, and the Dr was confident he’d be 9 ½ lbs. On Tuesday May 8th (my due date), after getting set up in the “prep” room, and waiting impatiently for the Dr to give the nurse the Ok, to head to the OR; the Dr came in and told us that we may be bumped for an emergency c-section. But we weren’t bumped. Around 1:30 pm I was wheeled into the OR and DH was held outside while I was given the spinal. I was very nervous about the spinal, but honestly, it wasn’t that bad. They brought DH in, and I made him tell me stories so I could be distracted and not hear all that was going on around my tummy. I didn’t feel much, but when they pulled out my baby boy at 2:34pm, I literally felt like a weight was lifted off me! We could hear him crying, but neither of us could see him. It felt like an eternity to have him cleaned up and passed over to DH and me. DH and I shared a moment with our boy when they took DH and baby out to finish me up and finish baby’s clean-up. I was wheeled out to recovery, feeling pretty good, and anxious to see my DH and DS again. When DH came over, with DS, I was ecstatic—that’s when I found out DS weighed in at 9lbs 7ozs and was 20 ½ in!! Though he weighed over 9lbs, he really doesn’t look it—yes big, but not BIG! I did not get to my room until almost 7 pm, apparently was a busy day/night for c-sections. We were in the hospital until Friday afternoon—to start our new adventure at home. It’s been a little better each day, and I am feeling better each day as well. Without further ado, here are pictures! Thanks girls, and yes, almost everyone says he looks like me! Christine- Yes, Dr S did the c-section, all went well, I am healing great--got to meet Dr M, finally, in the hopsital- he was so nice, he did DS's circ. Posted 5/19/07 7:25 PM
