Florence Advice Needed

We're taking our postponed honeymoon in 18 days (Chat Icon). One of the stops on our cruise is Florence. I'm soooooooo excited to go yet sad because I feel like I could spend 3 weeks in Florence and still not see everything - nevermind the crappy 12 hours we get there (including getting to and from from Livorno).

ANYWAY, please recommend the top 2-3 sites we should hit in Florence. This will help us narrow it down so we don't spend the majority of the time running from one to the next.

Ahhh...we went to Italy for our honeymoon. You're going to love it! Anyhow, in Florence, I would definitely visit the Ponte Vecchio, Il Duomo, the Accademia (that's where the David is) and the Uffizi.

Have fun!!

Also, Santa Croce is gorgeous and has Michelangelo's tomb and Galileo's tomb. It's something you can do in a short amount of time- I think we were inside for about 20 minutes.

I went on a tour and only had a day in Florence so I understand your disappointment. I loved it there- my favorite place in Italy. But from what I remember, all the main sites are fairly close to each other. So at least you won't waste time traveling from site to site.

As much as you'll be pressed for time, you should try to check out some of the street markets. There's gorgeous pottery and handbags and jewelry. Have a wonderful time!

Piazza Michaelangelo at sunset. You get the best shots and it has an amazing view of the city.
