Finally - Birth story, thank you and pic

Hi,

I don’t really post a lot but I gain so much from this board especially during my pregnancy and would like to share my story.

On Saturday 5/5 we went in for my weekly check up. The fetal heart rate was lower than usual and I wasn’t able to keep any food down for the last 2 weeks. My dr sent us straight to L& D. Up until that moment I thought wanted it to be over but when she said that I got so scared and started to cry.

When we got to the hospital they admitted me right away for decreased fetal movement and started monitoring the baby.

I really wanted to wait and go naturally but under the curcumstances I didnt want to risk any harm to our baby and decided to trust my Dr and am glad I did

They started the induction at 2pm, at 10pm I got the wonderful epidural and pitocin...When the epi wore off I asked for more and they said nope you’ll be pushing soon..

I started pushing right before 7am and 5 pushes later met my daughter at 7:12am on Sunday 5/6

Yes it all hurt like hell especially waiting in between contractions to push with her stuck in the middle but as they say its practically a memory now and I would do it again in a heartbeat

Chelsea Paige weighed 5lbs 14oz, is 19.5 inches long and perfect

Chelsea and I have different blood types and she was born with jaundice which had her in the NICU getting photherapy her first 2 days. I was so upset seeing her like that and felt like I was missing out on our immediate bonding. We were both discharged on Tuesday and are making up for the lost time. Chelsea had her first check up yesterday- no more jaundice and all is well

The first night was hell. I told DH I wanted to run away- he said "take her with you"- neither of us meant it at all we were just lost, confused, tired and scared. Since the first night we have developed a nice pattern and we are really enjoying, loving and adoring her.

Recovery has been interesting- I really didn’t expect the hormonal crazies ( cryign fits for any and every reason- including MIL wearing way too much of her stinky perfume around my child- sorry I needed to get that out) , leaking painful breasts and all the blood among other things

Ladies- thanks again for all the sharing and caring on this board. I haven't been able to check in as much as before but am thinking about you all wishing you great pregnancies, deliveries and babies

I've never posted a pic before and I haven't yet downloaded any of the ones with her eyes open but I would like to introduce my daughter to our on-line support system
