My birth story

Ok, as many of you knew..I jumped on here Sun nite at around 10pm asking if I was having labor pains. Yup, I was!

Woke up sun but was feeling a little "off".
I had a christening to go to at 3pm so I got ready but right before I was leaving, I was having menstrual like cramps and that was happening every hr. I thought nothing.
At christening everyone was pretty much telling me...UH girl, that is the sign of labor.
I was in denial since doc pretty much said, See you after due date!

I come home.....still getting them but now closer...45min now every 30min, 20 min is when I signed on here to ask you ladies.
By 12:30, they are a lot closer and now the pain has gotten worse.....we call doc and head to hospital.
I get there, get hooked up and the resident tells me, ok....2cm. No mucus plug or water broken.
Looks like this is the start, early labor and this could be a 24hr ordeal being your 1st child and all.
I was given option to go home, walk them off since that will progress it and as they increase, to come back or to stay at hospital. All i was thinking was, Im already uncomfortable and I couldnt bear being in that hospital for 10hrs plus....Im going home.
Home, get in bed and had contractions continuously through the nite. I would fall asleep in between them. At 3:15 contraction, I also go to bathroom and well there was my mucus plug. I continue to walk off the contractions and bare it as best as I can.
Finally at 6:00am, i am screaming and the contractions are 2min apart from each other. My mom comes down ( I live in apt below) and shes like, this has to be it..You have to go! ( You think I woke her??)
DH gets up...we start getting ready and my water pretty much broke as my mom was putting my pants on!

Off to hospital, get wheeled in..its about 6:30ish am. Resident comes in and says, 10CM...We are READY!!
Im so out out of it at this point and they are telling me, DONT PUSH!! DONT PUSH!
I was ready to kill them.
Well if all you know, 10cm is like a lot so uh huh, NO DRUGS!!
Gianna Emily made it into this world at 6:44am after 6 pushes and all natural..weighing 5lbs 12oz, 18 1/2inches. Also 5 days early! My doc didnt make to hospital in time....it all happened so fast.

I dont know how I did it and honestly being my 1st, I had no idea what to do, what I was in for....all scary and painful ( I aint going to lie) but worth it!

I dont think that I would of made it to hospital had I waited any longer at home.

I was warned already that next child when asked, Would you like to go home? SAY NO!!

She is precious...so far pretty good and although breastfeeding is tough..we are trying to make it happen.
Being a mom is such a great feeling!!!

OMG Deb! What a wonderful birth story!!! So glad you truly got to labor at home!!! I can imagine what was going through Steve's mind!!!! Gianna is a beauty though!!! Enjoy every minute of her!
