i'm not one, but my district pays in the upper $20K... plus full health benefits, disabilty and any other benefits you choose to add.

Their duties are all day like a teacher with an hour for lunch and one prep. period. they have no planning responsibilities. Many are responsible for a special ed. child (1:1) or assist a special ed. teacher in the self-contained classes.

All the TAs in my district are certified teachers so many do guided study (resource room) with the kids with the planning and evaluation done by the teacher and are allowed to teach when needed.
