NYC teachers....Is it easy to transfer???

Not sure if I would try....but what is the procedure because I think it may have changed.

There are no more transfers; seniority means nothing (which is great for people who don't have a lot of time in the system). They now use the "Open Market". Schools must declare their vacancies on the DOE site and there is a process for applying, but I am not sure how exactly it works. If a principal wants to hire you, he/she can- which is nice because there are no more concerns about someone more senior bumping you.
