I know it's early but I am sure application season is coming. Where do you guys work in the summer, if you do work?

I used to do summer school within my district. Then I took one summer off and loved it, so now I am kind of spoiled. So, the past few years, I tutor during the summer. I can make my own hours, still make enough money to cover bills, and get to have time for the beach too.

As for opportunities, I know teachers who have done Camp Invention, university summer camp, or some job unrelated to teaching like catering.

I have been teaching summer school , but in my district it is only 3 weeks long. It's OK - I don't love it.

I took off last summer and went near broke.

This year, I have no excuse except for the 2 weeks we are going to Aruba and noone will hire me for just July 16- Aug 16th (about 1 month)

I will most likely be taking the summer off again or trying to take some in service courses to occupy my time
