When you were a new teacher...

How did you fit in with the others in your department?

I am a new teacher and I have so many ideas and ways I want to run my lessons, but there are a bunch of us in the department. They are all super nice, but have been there a while, so I don't want to "rock the boat".

Did anyone else encounter this?

I think alot of people experience this. I have a friend in a similar situation & she works in a school w/ alot of older teachers who are not all as motivated as she is. She also is afraid to be too out spoken because she doesn't want to offend anyone. My thing was always share ideas, not in a preachy way and close my door & do what I want in my own class.
