I am reading An Italian Affair by Laura Fraser. It's a travel memoir, about a woman who goes off to Italy after her marriage suddenly ends. Posted 5/8/06 8:23 PM |

It is very intense (b/c of her writing style)...it's a short book but I haven't been able to just sit down with it. I've had to take it in doses - reading a few chapters here and there

I read this also, and while I found it very well written, I felt as if Didion thought she was the only woman ever to become a widow. I did feel bad about her daughter's illness and subsequent death. Posted 5/9/06 6:39 PM |

I just finished Map of Bones by James Rollins. It was EXCELLENT! If you liked The DaVinci Code, you'd like this book. Very similar. Posted 5/15/06 4:59 PM |

I read this a while back. It is sort of depressing, but I found it very interesting. Posted 5/15/06 7:18 PM |

It's incredibly depressing. And I work in the South Bronx- many of the streets mentioned are familiar to me. It makes me look at some of the kids I've come across in a different light. Like, I knew many of them have it bad, but what these kids are going through is unreal!

I finally finished "A Thread of Grace," which I definitely recommend to anyone who likes historical fiction. I am not reading "Tender Bar," which, so far, is a very enjoyable memoir. Posted 5/20/06 9:11 AM |
