Really Simple Syndication lets you pull together a list of Web sites you want to follow. Instead of surfing through newspaper sites for news, checking eBay to track an auction, or visiting Apple's iTunes, you get access to it all through one Web page.

These services search the Web and deliver news you want: bloglines.com has desktop alerts and the ability to share items; feeddemon.com, fast compiler; my.yahoo.com and pluck.com are free.
