So You Think Your Baby Can Dance: Registering Your Child For Dance Class

By Mia Bolaris-Forget

Every mama wants her little girl to try her hand or foot at becoming a Prima Ballerina but many may be reluctant to register their little ladies in dance class.

But, besides being great for confidence and coordination, it’s also an ideal way to socialize little girls, and to give mom some alone time to either sit and watch or unwind.

Some suggest that you can get your child (girls and boys) involved in music and movement classes as early as 2 to 2.5 years of age, depending on their interest, “maturity”, and ability.

Try to find a class they can first observe and take note of their reaction. Also, it’s best to enroll your child with a friend and in a class with other children in the same age or ability group, especially in the beginning.
