We’re always looking for a couple of healthy food choices that will help us feel satisfied while also helping improve out health. Let’s face it; as soon as doctors started recommending small amounts of dark chocolate daily to assist with digestion, the national dark chocolate sales started skyrocketing. We want to be able to enjoy the healthy foods we’re ingesting, killing two birds with one stone. One of nature’s biggest gifts to the foodie world was fruit. Different fruits have different health benefits; some even assist weight loss. Below are a couple of the best options when trying to keep a trim waist while satisfying a sweet tooth.

Fresh blueberries are full of vitamin A and manganese. Manganese helps your body to break down nutrients like fats, protein, and carbs. With proper breakdown your body is able to properly use the nutrients to create energy, making it less likely to store away the rest as body fat.

Strawberries are another wonder food when it comes to maintaining and losing weight. Strawberries help to control and maintain your blood sugar level. When your body isn't combating excessive sugar in your blood stream, it isn't required to packs it away as fat.

Papaya acts as a natural soothing mechanism for your overactive or sensitive digestive system. A distended belly is sometimes a result of digestion; bloating and gastritis are uncomfortable variations. Papaya actually soothes your digestive system, and can prevent such stomach upsets if ingested before sitting down to big meals. It’s definitely a sweet preventative measure.

Sweet, cooling watermelon is another fabulous fruit for helping you maintain weight or to aid in weight loss. Watermelon is comprised of exactly that; 92% water. Watermelon doesn't contain fat or cholesterol, so it is a great after dinner snack to satisfy your sweet tooth or a great appetizer to make sure you don’t over-do-it with your dinner.

Grapefruit is one of the best morning starters that you can add to your plate. Although many individuals taking prescription medications need to be wary of drinking grapefruit juice; grapefruit itself is full of vitamin C and antioxidants which help to lower cholesterol and prevent the buildup of belly fat. The acidic properties of the grapefruit also help to break down the food you consume more quickly, helping prevent over-absorption.
